Trello

I was introduced to Trello by a coworker who uses it to prioritize their tasks - and as a manager, they get a lot of things to keep track of.  So, I thought I'd take a look into it to see if it was something I could use - and I like it!  Here are a few things I like most about it:

  • Having multiple lists within a board - I like to keep tasks for different project listed separately so I can look at what's in the queue for each at a glance, and the horizontal layout of the screen makes this easy.
  • Customization of the card coloring scheme - I could see many uses for this, but for me the best use is for prioritizing cards.  This way, when I add a new card, I can more easily keep track of what should be done next in the list.
  • Easy to use interface - I like having the ability to click and drag cards all around to rearrange them, which is particularly important when re-prioritizing, or moving cards to different lists when a mistake is made or when simply re-organizing tasks
Trello is a great tool that I am beginning to use for all my projects listed in this blog.  It helps me keep track of all of them without losing ideas.  I think anyone with a need for organizing tasks at a project-level should look into this tool!
